Job description
Your main responsibility is cattle care, especially milking at a 2×10 side-by-side milking parlour and daily animal care. Workdays consist of a single shift (except for morning shifts on public holidays). In the morning shift, there are two milkings (5–9 am and 12–3.30 pm), and in the evening shift one milking (8 pm – approx. midnight). Milking shifts are done in pairs: one person drives the cows, the other milks.
In addition to milking, the work includes calf and young stock care (feeding with Milktaxi), moving and handling animals, bedding cubicles and treatment pens, general barn maintenance, and operating a Bobcat skid steer loader.
The work is physical and varied. While daily routines are clear, animal work follows real-life situations, which is why a calm approach and practical hands-on attitude are essential.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a person who enjoys practical farm work and treats animals with calmness, patience and respect. Success in this role comes from being able to commit to routines and shift work, and from working smoothly both independently and as part of a team.
We hope that you are comfortable with physical work and early mornings, are self-motivated and responsible, and can handle everyday work situations in English. Previous experience in the field is an advantage but not required – attitude and willingness to learn matter most.
What we offer
You will be offered a fixed-term full-time position until 30 September 2027 (starting 5–6/2026 by agreement), along with thorough onboarding to all farm tasks. Salary is based on the Finnish Agricultural Industries Collective Agreement (demand group 3).
There is an opportunity to learn and take on responsibility based on your interests. Accommodation is available either in a rental apartment near the farm or with support in finding one. Employee benefits include Smartum, and the employment includes a 6-month trial period.
