Seasonal workers for a berry farm
We are looking for hard-working seasonal workers for a berry farm in Isokyrö. Come and produce authentic summer flavours with us!
Palomäki Strawberry Farm is located in the beautiful countryside of Isokyrö in South Ostrobothnia, where berries and vegetables are grown with years of experience and the most natural farming methods possible. The berries are grown in the open soil and in a tunnel. The freshness, quality and taste of the produce are the main priorities, so the berries are grown in a clean and ideal growing environment.
Seasonal workers for the 2024 summer season
We are looking for five workers from the beginning of May to work on the berry farm in early summer and five pickers for the picking season after Midsummer. Those starting in May can also work throughout the summer until the end of the harvest season.
The early summer work includes watering, fertilising, pruning, staking, weeding and clearing.
The harvest season (4-5 weeks) can be expected to start after Midsummer, but this will of course depend on the ripening of the strawberries. We expect you to commit to the whole period. Work will start at dawn and continue as needed and as conditions allow. We hope for flexibility to take care of our customers needs.
In order to communicate with the team, you will need to speak either Finnish or English at a level to cope with the workload. We can also manage German. The harvest season is a tight crunch, where teamwork is emphasised and everyone helps each other.
You do not need to have previous experience of working with berries, but it is an advantage if you have previously done similar tasks and/or are familiar with agriculture on some level. Picking is a job where you are constantly on the move. We expect diligence, as your work will ensure that only the best berries end up for our customers to enjoy. You'll do best if you're physically fit and have nimble fingers.
We value the professionalism of our employees. Their well-being and comfort is important to us. The salary is based on the Finnish Collective Agreement for Rural Industries (TES).
We are close to good transport connections: you can reach our farm quickly and easily by car and bus along highway 18 and by train to nearest towns Vaasa, Seinäjoki and Lapua, from 40 km away. Accommodation is provided and the residents take care of household chores themselves.
