Pohjois-Karjala, or Norra Karelen, also North Karelia is a region of Easter Finland, bordering Russia. The center of the region is located in Joensuu.

North Karelia’s agriculture is based on cattle-dominated livestock farming. The region is the country's fifth-largest producer of milk and beef. There is also a long tradition of berry picking and commercial forestry.
